The Southern Comfort sky diving center is one that is family owned. We are a small business that specializes in big fun. Skydiving appointments can be made from 8 a.m. to sunset Wednesday through Sunday, making it a perfect weekend activity. It can even make a great and unique date. All first time jumpers and all student must make appointments so that we are sure to have the requisite number of instructors available. Professionals are welcome any time, and we can usually find an acceptable time for jumpers who have licenses rated by the United States Parachute Association.
Our sky diving center is one of the fastest growing skydiving facilities in the state of North Carolina. We have 237 total acres, which includes a 4,000 foot grass strip. We have our own private airport, and planes to provide you with an exhilarating experience. Our private airport means that we schedule the airtime, and we do not have to wait permission from a nearby airstrip. We recent purchased a large, 4,000 square foot building. It is climate controlled for indoor parachute packing. Professionals who wish to pack their own chutes will be able to do so in the best possible setting, and we will be able to provide properly chutes, packed on site, for our jumpers.
We offer two modes of instruction at our sky diving center. The first is tandem skydiving, which is very popular with first timers and also makes a great gift. This type of parachuting involves the jumper being strapped to the instructor, rather than having his or her own chute. The second type of sky diving we offer is accelerated free fall. This skydiving technique allows you your own chute, but you must have a great deal more ground training before your first jump, and you are accompanied on your jump by two certified instructors.
All of the instructors at our sky diving center are certified by the United States Parachute Association, and our equipment is routinely checked to ensure its safety. Additionally, we require all jumpers that do not have licenses rated by the USPA as an A License to jump with automatic activation devices. These deploy the chutes automatically, so that if you forget or are too nervous, the chute will come out on its own. Additionally, all of our jumpers receive some instruction, even the tandem parachutists, to ensure that you know exactly what to expect. Our first goal is a safe and secure experience, and after that it is to make your jump as exciting and memorable as possible. |
