 The sky diving school at Southern Comfort Skydiving is a very good school with rated instructors. Our school is one of the fastest growing sky diving schools in the state of North Carolina, due largely to our fun atmosphere and emphasis on safety. You can find our sky diving school in Parkton, NC not too far from I-95, and just a little to the south of Fayetteville. It is a good location with plenty of space to land.
Our sky diving school is ideal for beginners and even for those with some skydiving experience. The United States Parachute Association (USPA) certifies all of our instructors, so you know you are getting the best possible instruction. Southern Comfort is a group member of the USPA, considered one of their “drop zones,” and as such we adhere to the organization’s standards of safety and governance. A USPA representative checks our equipment and instruction to ensure that you receive the top quality instruction you deserve from a sky diving school.
Commercial skydiving schools have been in existence since 1957, training ordinary people in the adventure of sky diving. (Prior to this time such schools were only for the military.) Our sky diving school is in that same tradition. While we have plenty of space for professionals, and professionals do come to make jumps and practice for competitions, we also boast a first-rate instruction program. Anyone who is in good health, is at least 18 years of age, and is willing to sign a liability waiver is welcome to receive sky diving lessons from Southern Comfort. Skydiving even makes a great gift.
Our skydiving school provides instruction in two types of parachuting: tandem and accelerated free fall. The most popular type of skydiving is tandem. This makes a popular gift choice, as well as a popular choice for other first-time skydivers because it requires a small amount of training. Our tandem program allows jumpers to experience the free fall of sky diving, as well as the enjoyment of gliding to a landing, with the help of an instructor who is in complete control. Rather than having one’s own chute, in tandem skydiving the person shares with the instructor, who attaches her or himself to the jumper’s harness.
Accelerated free fall is the other course offered by Southern Comfort’s sky diving school. This course teaches you the basics of skydiving, and allows you to progress through different levels, eventually preparing you for completely solo parachuting. Throughout the course you are outfitted with your own harness and chute. Instructors accompany you on the first several jumps, but you are not attached to them.
We provide all of the equipment you need at our sky diving school, and safety is our first priority. We will not make you pack your own chute, and we provide devices that automatically deploy your chute until you have received an A License by USPA standards. When you join our sky diving school, you have the opportunity to learn an exciting hobby in a secure setting. |
